Telco Cloud Portal

The Telco Cloud is a strategic platform in Swisscom to produce Telco Services for our customers in the future. One example is surfing the Internet with a mobile phone. The Telco Cloud Portal should simplify and accelerate the onboarding of Telco Services to the Telco Cloud. The portal is to be usable in self-service and as many processes as possible are to be automated. This will enable us to achieve faster onboarding with much less personnel effort.

Improve App

How does a large company like Swisscom manage to constantly evolve? It’s quite simple: we seek improvement ideas within our own ranks. To bring all of our ideas together in one central hub, we came up with the Improve App. It allows every employee to contribute his or her ideas to Swisscom, to discuss them or to immediately implement them with other people. Our motto is about speed, simplicity, and efficiency. We were able to gather over 4800 improvement ideas and implement them into various projects in just the first year, all thanks to this concept. In March 2018 the most recent further development to the web application was launched to propel the “Improve” idea forward.

SWOX

Swisscom operates some of the largest data centers in Switzerland. With SWOX, issues can be reported to and tracked by the centers. Until now, all of this had been non-transparently and inefficiently communicated through e-mail. Even periodic monitoring – which was previously recorded on paper (!) – can be documented with SWOX. There are plans to further develop its integration into Swisscom's alarm systems.

Protokoll-App

The check and maintenance working logs at sending stations were previously hand-written, then transferred to a Word file and uploaded to a share. With the protocol app, this work can be easily done on a smartphone. For devices that support the feature, there is an offline functionality that allows technicians to record the logs when they have no service. When the device goes online again, the log is saved.

Custodigit

The product is ready, the customers selected, and the team in position. What about the image? Custodigit is a start-up company that offers crypto vault services and transactions with crypto currency. Custodigit's products are mainly intended for financial and banking institutions. The Swisscom start-up had everything ready, but it required an overall image and thus enlisted the Apps Team. The logo, the landing page, the business card, and the PowerPoint template must represent the company and its values as well as possible. In our layouts, the content is afforded a lot of space and is complemented with expressive illustrations. This establishes a tone of professionalism, security, and trust. Now the company has everything it needs to get off to a successful start. All of us from the Apps Team wish you the best of luck!

Supplier Plattform

The clients' idea (Cruise Annesi, Hans Peter, Adrian Schwaller) was clear: the supplier platform should be able to display all attributes of Swisscom suppliers in a transparent, modern and dynamic way. With the aim of implementing their solution as cost-effectively as possible, and to work with a team that would develop its tasks with a high degree of professionalism and transparency, they approached us, the Apps Team. With the help of Sprint Meetings which took place every 2 weeks we formed the first visual features of the website and decided which functions were important for the MVP version. It quickly became clear that we could build on our infrastructure and so we decided to use Collab as our backend and to use Vue.js to connect front- and backend. To get the supplier data we needed an interface from SAP. Access to this could not be provided by the responsible team for a long time, which delayed the development by several weeks. The consequences of this were delays in programming the backend, which in turn meant that the MVP could not be delivered on time at the end of March. Miraculously we got the interface 2 days after the actual deadline, through 2 intensive working weeks the whole logic behind the supplier platform was finally created. Now we are there with a finished MVP and satisfied customer. We are looking forward to further cooperation with our clients and to writing a success story with them.

Partner-Portal 2.0

The Learning & Development Partner Management at Swisscom is actively involved in consulting and finding placement positions selected internal and external partners within the framework of demand-oriented learning and development measures. It is committed to quickly and easily providing the Swisscom client with the right partner at the right place and time on the basis of defined requirements and under uniform and transparent conditions. In order to make this possible, we need the support of a technical tool in the form of a web-based partner portal which ensures that the relevant setup and workflow operations processes act as a stable system for all roles involved (client, partner management, and internal/external partners) on a permanent, location-independent, and “any device” basis.
